Poor Ed has to climb into bed with a partner who looks much like this, only more disturbing! Ice packs all over my head. Heating pad cords poking out, threatening to strangle him. A giant wedge pillow to raise my head up so I don’t gasp for breath and snort all night. Multiple trips to the bathroom (me now on a diuretic) that not only wakes him up, but Roo too, who sympathetically decides he needs a trip outdoors to relieve himself as well. (Ed’s domain since we have a prowling mountain lion in the neighborhood). Poor guy. And last night’s blood pressure hit 191/101, threatening another trip to the ER. Amazingly the on-call doc prescribed a blood pressure medication that was exactly what Ed takes, so we were able to get it down into the 170’s, eliminating the ER run. Hopefully today’s echocardiogram will give us some clarity as to what the stink is going on with my heart. Sooo, keep praying for Ed. Bedtime has become a sci-fi horror story for this wonderfully supportive man… a true Twilight Zone!
