How stinkin’ true is that?!! And freeing!! Soooo many things shucked off along the way of life. Material possessions. Aspirations that landed me at dead ends. Aspirations that found their mark, only to disappoint. Petty relational peeves. Energy consuming image management strategies. Mixed messages for what constitutes “truth, justice and the American way.” And now, of all things, my addiction to thrift stores. (No, not THAT Lord!) Hunting/fishing trips seem pointless when my freezers are already overloaded with meat! No room. No need. No point! So what’s left? Hmmm… the people I love and You God. Pretty simple. Just gotta get good at sorting through all the inner and outer junk I’ve accumulated in that loooong process of figuring out this simple secret! Today’s devotional said it well. “The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is My Hand.” So, hand-in-Hand we will find fun ways invest in that other eternal value, loving the people You have placed into my life!
