Reflections 9/2/2020: Dang! Our 50th high school reunion just got postponed until next year! Thank you COVID 19! Much as I hate to admit it, it was a necessary move, given our ages as likely targets for the viral infection. Sitting ducks all gathered in one pond! We could have recreated Custer’s last stand at the Battle of the Bighorn. I’d even pulled out my yearbook to reacquaint myself with old (or better said) “young” faces that I hoped to be able to recognize beneath the lines and wrinkles of life! I was so shy in high school that I wasn’t exactly a socialite, so I was excited to actually be able to string a line of words into a coherent sentence for the first time in the presence of my peers. FINALLY cool! (Groovy, with it, snatched, Gucci, dope!) God, You’ve done wonders with me over the years! Mostly just freeing me from the tyranny of self-focus so I can genuinely care about others. Sounds simple but it is revolutionary stuff! Thank You for this freedom! And power! And the joy it brings! When our reunion FINALLY does happen, let me not brag too much about still being able to wear the same earrings I did in high school!
