Well hello big girl! Yesterday’s infusion, (complete with steroids), blessed me with 11 extra pounds of water weight overnight! Luckily I have one of these sumo wrestling costumes to hide out in until a (much wanted) flash flood sweeps out of my body! (JK… I wish!) Hated to take my blood pressure reading after the bad news on the scale, but although it popped up 20 points, it had gone down enough from the recent addition of blood pressure meds to still have me in a doable zone. (160/95) Thank You God! Also got some hours of blissful reprieve from my incessant headache last night which was a HUGE gift as well! Still scouting for the source of my dramatic rise in blood pressure and water retention, (which has me a total of 20 lbs. above my normal weight), and my tests came back showing some protein in my urine… possibly indicating kidney breakdown… one of the pre-warned side effects of the chemo drugs. Stopping the Avastin will, (please God-willing) rectify all 3 of these problems… but the research shows it is a slow, iffy process. More prayers for miracles! Sooo…. on with the medical show! (Where’s that ever-active, hospital-bedded rendezvous room from Grey’s Anatomy for some “romantic” relief?!!) Hmmm… come to think of it, that might be awkward in my new sumo wrestler suit!
