Reflections 11/25/2020: Boy do I find myself saying this more often as my face (not so) “graces” a mirror! It’s better when my reading glasses aren’t on, but wooooo, what a shock when they are! “ That’s NOT what I look like on my head!” I need those doses of reality though, as much as I hate them! God, a similar thing happens when I read Your Word. It mirrors back to me the true condition of my soul! The good, the bad, and the ugly! Baggy eyes of doing life without You. Pockmarks of unforgiveness. Wrinkles of unsurrendered worries. Clogged pores of downright disobedience! Ughhh! But along with the revealing mirror comes a complete makeover kit! Cleanser. Skin Refresher. Moisturizer! Blemish Covering Foundation! A new me! But the key is not to let the initial shock of the reflection drive me away from the mirror! But to hang in there to access the restoration that is also available! So “damn mirror,” reveal away, but also expect to be used to for reparation and restoration!
