Reflections 4/1/2020: I am TRYING to sniff out the cause of my nausea and stomach distress. But like this hound with all my prayer warriors following me, I am not sure I’m on the scent! 4 weeks have passed since my last chemotherapy infusion, it seems unlikely that the chemo is the cause… especially since it has just gotten worse as the month has progressed. Sooo I am sniffing down the trail of my omentum hoarding fluids again. Last liquid drain was 3 liters pulled out! That is 6.6 pounds of unwanted guck sucked out of my abdomen! Dang! Sooo, when I meet with my oncologist today (infusion may not happen due to a delay in the insurance approval 😤), I am hoping she can determine if this tummy distress is being caused by fluid retention again… and send me to the outpatient window at the hospital for an ultrasound assisted drain. (The exact place I’m trying to avoid because of Covid 19 exposure!) Double dang! Discovered last night that if I sleep on a completely empty stomach, no churning gas keeps me awake! So HOORAY for a great night’s sleep! But lost a pound in the process, not a good long-term strategy for keeping weight on this shrinking body! Sooo, Great Discerner, Scent-Sniffer, lead on in my quest for an answer. You know what’s malfunctioning, so help us find that scent and track down the source! Gas be gone!!!
