Reflections 4/30/2020: Doesn’t look like much, but it is my morphine deliverer. Named him Horatio. My core looks and feels just like that… an apple core that’s been chewed and chawed to the nub! Teeth are chattering from the insult of the scalpel invasion! My throat, from the surgical tube, is protesting its assault. My mouth is sooo dry that it makes the Sahara Desert seem like an oasis! And my medical marijuana was banned from being a stowaway in my overnight bag.🤨Sooo I’m goin’ with the big hitters… opiates! The surgeon felt that he got all those dang cancer cells, but he had to open me up to get to the massive ones. Sooo “hello hospital!” Again! BUT I’m not complaining. This is a gift, God! The bad guys are gone!!! Hallelujah!! Still have 3 months of chemo ahead of me, but that feels like a saunter in the park compared to what I’ve already been through! So, thank You Lord for all the answered prayers that have had protective angels swarming my perimeter for the last few days!! May they protect me from the charms of Horacio too!
