I decided to use my months of hermitage to capture my life story on paper. Not as an abdication to the death threat of my cancer, but as a wonderful opportunity to travel the ‘chronos’ of my life with many stops along the way to explore the scenic sites of ‘kairos’ that make the journey explode with meaning! And in retrospect I can take the time to ferret out the life lessons that swirled just below the surface of my awareness at those formative times. Having had Braun and Bryn late in life, they never got to delight in the full, fun-loving spirit of my mother… or her Nebraska-born, down-to-earth wisdom. I, likewise, may or may not be in a good position to pour myself into my grandkids’ lives. Lord willing I will, but none of us knows, whether cancer hangs over our heads or not. So out with the pen as my traveling companion… sometimes a better way to capture the nuances of my experiences anyway! I may never make it to see the pyramids in Cairo, but kairos exploration is ever within my travel reach! Adventure awaits!
