Reflections 6/20/2020: Yesterday, after battling with my wrong password to get into my medical health portal, I finally convinced the customer service person that I was who I claimed to be, and she let me access my most recent blood test results. (Dang passwords!!!) My cancer markers had been cut in more than half! The “normal” range is 0-33 and after surgery, 6 weeks ago my score was 25. Good but not great. This week they had dropped to 11.8!!! Getting super close to my goal of single digits!!! Hallelujah!!! My “seek and destroy” strategy is working!!! Thank You God for great progress! I feel such a surge of HOPE! Celebration time!!! Still have 5 more chemo infusions to go, so we can stamp out those numbers down even lower! Given that the reoccurrence rate for my type of ovarian cancer is 40-50%, the lower the cancer marker the better! Objective measures are encouraging, but my main Source of HOPE are Your promises, Lord. The promise of Your Presence with me through the ordeal, and Your Sovereignty over the eventual outcome. “My times are in Your hands!”(Ps.31:15)
