Reflections 6/17/2020: I finally convinced Ed to give up on the coyote urine approach to guarding our garden from the plundering deer and build a fence! (You can see the poles and wire in the background). It ain’t much, since we don’t want it to detract from the floral beauty, but it seems to be working! Our delphinium, (which got devoured on its last attempt to bloom), is now thriving… thumbing its nose at the deer held at bay! Kinda feel that way about my cancer prognosis too!  Surgery, like the fence, took away cancer’s devouring presence in my body! Hallelujah!! Now the chemo can concentrate on ferreting out any rogue cells that might be hiding in wait for their next opportunity to infiltrate. Seek out and destroy is my mantra now! I have my big infusion today, which lays me up for a nauseous stretch of time, but my week off from chemo last week gave me a glimpse of how quickly my body can recuperate after the chemical onslaught. So delphinium plant, let’s not let marauders who strip us of our flowering beauty, deter us from trying again! Bloomin’ determination!
