Reflections 6/27/2020: Paracleta and I are still trying to figure out how to navigate switchbacks. Tight turns just don’t work for us… always dump it at just that critical pivot point! Instant blood! (Especially since I am on blood thinners to obliterate the blood clot in my neck). Need my technically savvy mountain bike friends to school me on what is probably a pretty simple turning technique. But falling is part of learning. Used to say when I water or snow skied that if I didn’t fall, I wasn’t pushing my learning limits! Hmmm… is that true in character development too Lord? Maybe. I hate the falls, like overacting to someone’s words, but does that help me learn for future interactions? It sure can… if I bring the bloody mess to You for some first aid treatment. Cleanse the wound with confession. Evaluate where I went wrong. And patch it up with new resolve to include You in the process instead of trying to go it alone! Pivot points! Can be disastrous… or delightful as I learn to lean into Your Holy Spirit’s technical guidance in my travels.
