Reflections 1/10/2020: Ditto! Not a fan of this purging philosophy! I am known to be a bit of a “hoarder.” I disagree with word “hoarder” and prefer to call it “collector.” Especially of clothes, shoes and junk jewelry… all scavenged from thrift stores and garage sales, so I don’t break the bank! A “hoarder” connotes selfish, fearful and controlling. My “collecting” tendency is born of artistic flair! Must have plenty of diverse colors, textures and themes in my wardrobe! I never know what mood will strike on what day, so be prepared with a spectrum of possibilities! And I am not selfish, but generous in sharing my costume closet with anyone who asks! Rationalization? Absolutely! God, bust my passion to collect if it is offensive to You (an effort to replace You with stuff), OR becomes a stumbling block to myself or others. It’s fun, but jettisonable (new word!) if it becomes obstructive to my walk with You! (And a warning to my kids… expect a lot of weird discoveries of stashes throughout the house if I head home to Heaven unexpectedly and have no time to do this Japanese purge before I go!)
