Been there. Done that! Miss it! Roo and I walk by the Equestrian Center as often as possible to get a whiff of this ambrosia! Funny how horse sweat, dander, dust, hay-scented hair and a dab of manure come together to make such a healing scent! Should be bottled as perfume or formed into waxed candles… except the market would be limited to feed stores, where true connoisseurs traipse around in dung-covered boots! But aromas are more than just smells. They are transport machines! They become intricately intertwined in the experiences they embody as they’re embedded deep in our souls! God, Your word says that “we are the fragrance of Christ.” Smelly or aromatic? I guess that is both UP TO US, AND THE SNIFFER of that fragrance. Can’t do much to control the perception on the sniffer’s part, but I can do what I can to purify the “Jesus aroma” I emit. Lord may the smell be as unpolluted as possible from the “manure” in my life. And may its lingering scent be pleasant aromatherapy to those who have come in sniffing distance of me!
