I got a wild hair yesterday to break out of my solitude and do SOMETHING stimulating. The Denver Zoo popped into my head, so mask and sanitizer on board, I hit the road! (Roo looks non-plussed because he was getting the signals that this escapade WOULD’NT include him!) Safari clad, off I went (alone because EVERYTIME I’ve ever been to the zoo it has been with a crowd of kids or special need adults that turned out to be more of a cattle drive than an exploration of Your incredible Creation, Lord… so THIS time it was just You and me!) GLORIOUS!!! Watched the Orangutans for as long as my heart desired! Marveled at the majesty of the King of the Jungle! Treated the eye-candy Lorikeet birds to a cup of hand-held nectar! Ate lunch with a pair of geese and their down-drenched goslings! And met Dobby, the giraffe that had totally caught his keepers off guard with his birth they didn’t even know was a pregnancy! Only when my circulation-impaired legs swelled into tree trunks did I give up the ghost and head home. I fell in love with You anew God! Such beauty! Such creativity! Such diversity (in the underused sense of that word)! Such trust-ability! I surrender afresh the design of my life to Your Creatorship. (Maybe just a bit of a better hairdo though, than this maniacal monkey!)
