Reflections 9/9/2020: There’s a new sheriff in town! Roo got his star name tag (and chip) today! We were slow in obtaining it after jumping the gun too soon after being scammed on the Sassy puppy fraud. But since he is the real deal, and we’d hate to lose him if he wandered off, we braved the engraving machine once again. He’s not sure what to do with this identity-defining star blazing around his neck, jingling out our love for him, but we hope he will embrace it for what it is. Family affiliation! Strangely got me thinking about how You God, chipped and tagged me as I was adopted into Your Family. No tangible tag, but a clear etching of something different deep inside of me. A sense of belonging. New ears to hear Your voice. Fascination with all You’ve created. (Must have looked weird to others as I studied a leaf as if it were a treasure!) A peculiar caring about others, even people just passing by me on the street. Peacefulness where anxiety had previously prevailed. Joy driving out depression. An “ABBA Father” cry erupting out of nowhere! Heart chipped and tagged! Chosen, adopted and embraced by You! May Roo revel in his new family affiliation star in the same way I have reveled in mine!
