Reflections 7/16/2020: Well, God executed a wrestling reversal and landed us the cutest puppy in the world after being cheap-shotted by a scam artist! (Usually these redemptive reversals are painfully slow, but in this case, “with a lotta help from my friend,” Ed, it was lightning fast!) Sassy has become Roo! A male mix of Mini-Aussi and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! The two breeds I was trying to decide between both wrapped up in one package! I think that swap between puppies would have been less fluid if I’d actually ever gotten to hold little Sassy, but that bond never happened, and the vacancy for a puppy was still flashing brightly. Sadness turned to gladness! Heck, euphoria! No room for remnant anger in the past, no matter how recent…leaving that in the hands of forgiveness, and detective agencies. Chose the name “Roo” for a few reasons. 1. It was the name I wanted for Koda, but got outvoted by the kids. 2. Loved that name of Kang-Roo’s baby in Winnie the Pooh. 3. Its origins are English, meaning “love of life!” Figured between being an Aussie (with a British accent), and a King Charles descendant, an English name was in order! We were all prepared for a sleepless night, with a lot of whimpering, but we tucked Roo close to my side in the bed and he conked out instantly! Didn’t stir all night! I finally chose to wake him up at 4:00 am, figuring he must at least have to pee. Reluctantly he roused and we played outside under a crooked-smiling crescent moon! Thank You God for cleansing and reopening my heart to embrace this little guy! And helping puppy-reluctant Ed fall in love with him too! Miracles DO happen!
