Reflections 11/11/2020: Not much to look at… just a pile of rubble… but this is Beth-El, the place Jacob encountered angels sent from Heaven to encourage him in his time of need. (You can see why he used a rock as his sleeping pillow!) To me, Beth-El is a kind of mystical portal… a break in the curtain that separates Earth from Heaven. A rare chance to peek in and touch the face of God! I think I stumbled upon such a portal yesterday! At the ARC Thrift Store no less! In front of mirror near the boarded up dressing rooms. Two times now, in that exact place I have had divine encounters with other shoppers that reeked of Your Presence, Lord! The sweet incense of instant “fellowship” (kindred spirithood) with a total stranger! Shared words summoned that portal, but it was the intensity of Your Spirit within me touching the intensity of Your Spirit in them that cracked that portal wide open! Blood sisterhood! Literally. Your blood Jesus! Two souls in love with the same Savior! Eyes met. Tears flowed. Hearts melded. No more words were necessary. Can’t explain it beyond that. Mystical. Rocked my world… as did Beth-El’s stone-summoned angelic ladder for Jacob!
