Reflections 8/16/2020: Last evening our neighborhood staged a communal toast to the end of my cancer chemo treatments! (I don’t have any photos of that teary moment yet, but this picture at our recent “local talent show” captures the joy I felt at sharing my arduous trek with them!) I can’t believe how caring and supportive the whole block has been through this life-stripping ordeal. Honored and humbled in one fell swoop… Everyone anted up their favorite desserts and home-concocted moonshines! Braun was able to reconnect with many of his old buddies from childhood, the puppies had another ridiculous romp around the cul-de-sac (Roo was in his glory!), the new generation of kiddos wow’d us with their scooter prowesses (all while slurping popsicles!), and the veteran residents melded seamlessly with all the newcomers! Mr. Rogers was smiling from Heaven! God, I am overwhelmed at this show of caring and support. I DEFINITELY have not been alone! Thank You for moving in SOOO many people’s hearts to be vessels of Your love for me. Jesus, You showed up in so many forms last night! But that is Your specialty, so why should that surprise me?! Thank you all my friends, old and new!
