Reflections 5/6/2020: Sooo clever! How I loved the “Where’s Waldo?” books, sitting on the couch with Braun and Bryn! We spent hours scanning the pages for that peppermint pattern, giving away Waldo’s location. The hardest find was the Christmas book where Waldo is in a candy cane factory! Talk about camouflage! So this “social distancing” edition really drives home the point of our dilemma. No place to run. No place to hide! Exposed! Easy find! With all the trappings of a busy life whittled down to bare essentials, we stand a bit naked before You God. Our protection and provision strategies in life stripped away. Perhaps, like Saul on the deserted desert road to Damascus, as the blinding light of Your Presence buckles our knees, we too might call out, “Who are You Lord?” And find our hearts open to new answers. Clandestine Waldo called out from the crowd. Offered genuine relationship! Hiding and blending games gone. No longer necessary! “Being found” is what it’s really all about! (Not the Hokey Pokey!) Sooo mysterious God, as the crowd disperses and I am left alone in Your Presence, may my curiosity and openness to Your hugeness, spark a deeper and broader awareness of who You truly are! And who I truly am in relationship with You! Not “Where’s Waldo?”, but “There’s Waldo!”
