Reflections 1/17/2020: Ed and I have our big Anniversary date today! Our annual trip to the National Western Stock Show! (So romantical!) Giant, gnarly turkey legs to balance as we step around cow piles in the stockyards. Llama kisses in the petting zoo. Deep-fried Snicker Bars! Prize bull semen sales.  Western wear I salivate over! And trying desperately not to get sucked into the demonstration of Ginsu knives for the hundredth time! (Ed gets mesmerized by how thin they can cut a tomato slice!) Laugh if you will, but we LOVE this Winter adventure every year! I get it that I enjoy it, given all the years I shoveled manure out of my commitment to my horse… but Ed’s excitement in venturing into this aromatic arena always surprises me! Strangely he especially likes the stock yards! I secretly think it’s the enormous bulls that fascinate him! Always is a bit more amorous after rubbing shoulders with the big boys! (I’ll take it! Whatever works!) Sooo God, bless our romantic date with fun and laughter, no fur in our food, contentment to see all kinds of cool things that we realize we DON’T need, and awe in the incredible creativity You built into every living thing!
