Reflections 8/31/2020: As my immune system is recuperating and the chemo toxins are being purged from my body, I am reclaiming some of my old duties… like grocery shopping. Ed has been a trooper for these past 6 months, but it is time for me to hit the grocery aisles as the matriarch of our home! He has been a gem at deciphering my scribbled lists and plowing through the confusing choices every product so proliferatingly produces. But there is one item he just can’t seem to get right. Toilet paper. His selection? One ply, scratchy, dissolves in your hand, desert gas station stuff that even Roo doesn’t want to touch! Miser that I am, toilet paper is one splurge that I afford our family! Quilted Cottonelle! I feel like a princess on the throne! (Literally!) This picture of the ponies is super cute… but truer than I want to admit. Went to a pony show with my sister a few years ago, and ALMOST came home with the cutest little furry baby in the world! Was negotiating her travel back from Tulsa when reality struck… not the kind of “milk and cookies” you just put a shelf at home! (You lucked out Jill, no living lawnmower in our yard!) So Ed was saved from my impulsive purchase! As my reclaimed freedoms resume, who knows what might show up at our doorstep! But be assured there will be viable TP if you visit!
