Reflections 4/16/2020: In case this picture is a little obscure to you, it is a woman riding a bar of soap safely through the spiky coronavirus scare. Turns out that the covid19 virus (outside of our bodies) is easily eradicated with just simple soap. It is covered in a layer of fat that dissolves upon contact with suds and warm water! Once its protective shield is gone, it melts like the Wicked Witch of the West! (“Who would have thought a good little girl would destroy my beautiful wickedness!”) But once INSIDE our bodies, that simple detergent solution doesn’t work. It gets a spike-hold on our lung tissue and multiplies at will. Got to thinking how much this is like temptation in our lives. Fairly easy at first to eradicate with a quick scrub of soapy sensibility! But give it a foothold by succumbing to it and it sets up camp inside of us! Attaching spikes of entrapment at every opportunity! Sooo God… makes sense to me to stop these parasites at the earliest stage! Don’t invite them in! And access Your promise that “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (I Cor. 10:13) So soap it is! Early on!
