Reflections 1/4/21: I’ve been back and forth on whether to reflect on this cartoon or not. Partly because of the crude language, but also because of the cavalier attitude to let Karma do its thing! (Is that the loving intent Jesus calls us to?) To the extent that Karma is simply an expanded version of the Biblical concept that “You reap what you sow,” I am on board. To the extent that it supersedes God’s Providence in our lives, despite our actions, I am not. His forgiveness for true contrition and repentance wipes the slate clean for new beginnings! Karma cooties don’t have to cling to us forever! BUT I must admit, there are times when I find myself relinquishing obnoxious or headstrong people I encounter to their own Karmatic ends! Probably not motivated by my love for them… but I HAVE seen God use that strategy in my own life to bring about loving results. Sooo, check my heart Jesus… and when I slip into this, “Have the day you deserve” mentality, may it honestly be born of  a desire for their best! Not retribution for their obnoxiousness!
