Reflections 3/16/2020: I did online church yesterday, (soaking in an oatmeal bath no less), and was convicted by the pastor’s teaching about the guys who were so determined to get their paralytic friend to see Jesus that they tore a hole in the roof where Jesus was teaching. I’ve heard this preached on many times before but never noticed that when Jesus healed the paralytic man, He told him to “take up your pallet and go home.” The paralytic no longer needed his pallet, (and probably never wanted to see it again!), but Jesus told him to take it none-the-less. Not just to remind him from whence he came, but to use it to carry others in need to meet Jesus! That convicted me that I sure could be more motivated to bring others to Jesus! It’s not my job to convert anyone… just to bring them into proximity to Jesus! He is the Healer, not me! So I must be willing to demolish roofs, tear down walls, and risk potential rejection to get others into Your Presence, Jesus! Miraculous healings hang in the balance! So I will dust off my pallet and keep it at the ready for paramedic calls from paralytic friends!
