Reflections 10/29/2020: I am slowly etching out the daily-ness of my new life (as much as COVID permits anyway). A devotional from “Jesus Calling” paradigm-shifted me from thinking in massive plans to moment-to-moment choices. “Many people are so preoccupied with future plans and decisions that they fail to see choices they need to make today.” Hmmm… I was doing just that! Trying to map out an entire game plan for how to invest my time and talents. Perhaps “retirement“ (from the gainfully employed) affords me a whole different approach to each day. Freedom. Spontaneity. Availability. Fun! I can just activate my Spirit-radar and launch my day! Grab-bag living! Who knows what the day will hold?! Experiencing life extemporaneously! Steph and I (pictured here) are creating “3-C” get-togetherings… coffee, coloring and conversation! Crayola connections! My adventure with a friend to a thrift store last week landed me in the presence of a missionary woman from Cameron trying to find winter clothes for her family’s survival in Colorado for a few months. We bonded instantly and I was able to help her locate and purchase appropriate winter garb for their short stay in the States! (Not coincidentally… right Terry Todd?) Divine appointments can surprise me each day with this new mindset. So God, just enhance my radar readings so I can recognize these Zacchaeus-es peeking out from the Sycamore trees along my daily impromptu routes!
