Reflections 8/13/2020: Sooo cute!! And resourceful too! Ed and I haven’t had a lot of luck with hummingbird feeders, (and our lackadaisical remembrance to change out the nectar regularly). So this year we decided to go au natural and plant some tubular flowers that attract those cute hummers’ beaks! And it has WORKED! Haven’t summoned a huge crowd yet, (it takes time for the word to spread beak to beak), but the few takers have been delighted with our choices! One even checked out the inviting penstemon, then buzzed over and hovered a few feet from my face, emitting his distinctive squeaky twitter as if to say, “thank you!” His gratefulness touched my heart! Made me think of the leper you healed Jesus, who unlike the other 9, came back to bless You with a thankful heart! May I ever be that lesion-freed returnee, stopped in my tracks by Your audacious grace!
