Reflections 1/6/2020: I recently was told I was the spittin’ image of some woman named “Miss Elizabeth.” So I checked it out. Turns out Miss Elizabeth was the ring girl/manager/wife of professional wrestler “Macho Man,” Randy Savage in the 1980’s! Add a little age progression to her face and I can see the resemblance! (Doesn’t hurt that I haven’t changed my hair style in 40 years… kinda stuck in that quirky era!) The closest I ever came to being a “ring-girl” was being talked into entering a “Hot Legs Contest” (by my aerobic dance class) at a reputable restaurant/bar. Over 100 women showed up to strut their legs! Soon discovered it was de-volving into a striptease competition , and although I made the final cut I snuck out the back door with my dignity and clothing still intact! Live and learn! Sadly, I found that Miss Elizabeth died in her early 40’s from some drug overdose. 😞 All the more drives home the point that fame and fortune (and certainly drugs) don’t fill the yearning void inside of us. (Nor do “Hot Legs” competitions! Haha!) BUT I know WHO does! YOU GOD! How I wish Miss Elizabeth had found You instead of the dead-end road of ringside glitz and glamour.😞
