Well this isn’t Roo, but it sure could have been yesterday after our meander, (my only speed now), to the dog park! Total mud pup! And not a pleasant, “spa” kind of mud! Super sticky green algaed slop (with a dead fish aroma) that was sooo tempting to Roo that he rolled his entire body in it! Ahhhhh!!! I should have stopped him as he galavanted off in the direction of the mud hole, but he was sooo excited to explore his off-leash freedom that nothing I yelled to call him back stopped his trajectory. The mud was sooo thick that he could barely walk as it dried into a caked cast covering his body! So much for the freedom he so joyously sought! God, I wonder if You feel this way as we headstrongly blast off in hurtful directions, impervious to the checks in our spirit? And to mud holes just as stinky! How many times do we have to wallow in mud before we “get” that the freedom we sought often becomes a prison? Sooo, as cute as that saying is “Never regret what you did if you were happy at the moment,” isn’t true in every instance. Especially if it hurts others in the process! The scrubbing Roo endured to clean him up was just as painful to me… and my car now needs an mud-removing overhaul too!
