Reflections 4/7/2020: Geesh! This is truer than we want to admit! This home-bound quarantine has been a great equalizer! Our place in the pecking order of survival has been put to the test! And we ain’t comin’ out looking very victorious! What’s next? Drooling? Couch-to-couch continuous napping? Spastic dreaming? Farting at will? Perhaps boredom-induced gnawing on the furniture! If nothing else, there will be greater sympathy for our home-bound pets in the future, since we have paced in their paws for this time! I even saw a video of a guy taking his goldfish in a bowl for a run outdoors! Not sure the sloshing fish was delighted, but I understood his desperate intent! God, we humans think we are the epitome of sophistication. In control of all the details of our lives. Thanks for this humbling time of reminder that there are forces greater than us at work in this world… that can bring us to our knees with invisible power at the whim of a sneeze. And thank You that You are greater than sneezes, coughs, and fatal face-touching… and unlike the coronavirus, Your crown of thorns, (worn this very week), brought life to us instead of death!
