Reflections 8/2/2020: Housebreaking time! Roo is figuring this out slowly! Not sure if our relative (85%) “in the box” success is due to our diligent transport of his squiggling body outdoors to the lawn, or that he is actually learning where the appropriate place is to let ‘er rip. Given that he’s not much of a “treat” guy, we must resort to ridiculous amounts of gushing praise for successful outdoor elimination! And overblown disappointment when he cuts loose in the house! We look like idiots dancing proudly around a pile of poop, but, ya’ do what ‘ya gotta do for a good doo! I kinda like that Roo is a “words of affirmation” pup. He has a heart that WANTS to please us, and is sad when he doesn’t. Helps me understand how my sensitive heart can bless Yours, God. Today’s devotional touched on that heart-to-Heart mystery. “BRING ME THE SACRIFICE OF YOUR TIME: a most precious commodity. In this action-addicted world, few of My children take time to sit quietly in My Presence. But for those who do, blessings flow like streams of living water. I, the One from whom all blessings flow, am also blessed by our time together.” WOW! I love it when Roo quiets his frenetic energy to curl up on my ever-welcoming lap for some closeness time! It is a mystery that You, the Creator and Sustainer of the entire Universe, feel that same way about our seeking closeness with You! You don’t exactly dance around my successful poos, but I can feel Your delight in my heart that truly wants to please You!
