Reflections 1/11/21: After all my bragging about Roo being a peacemaker, here he is giving Eevee the stink eye! She has uncovered his stash of bones and is innocently sharing in a good chomp with him. They both have bones, and others are scattered all over the carpet, so there are plenty to go around, but Roo doesn’t want to share! He keeps taking Eevee’s right out of her mouth, despite the fact that he has a pile in front of him. Our perfect pup has a selfish streak! Even his affection for Eevee doesn’t trump his possessive pigginess! So time for a character lesson Roo! SHARING is CARING! HOARDING is HATING! Trust God (and us your owners) to provide all that you need! Be light of paw on your possessions! Our love for you will provide all that you need SO THAT you CAN be generous in sharing that abundance with others! Hmmm… why does that sound familiar God? Ohhhh… I think You busted me just the other day on my own stinginess with these words, “Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make ALL grace overflow to you, so that, ALWAYS having ALL sufficiency in EVERYTHING, you may have an ABUNDANCE for EVERY good deed;” (2 Cor. 9:7-8) Pretty ALL inclusive! Selfishness is born of distrust… distrust that our Source of provision isn’t fully trustworthy. So Roo, I guess we are both enrolled in the same character class after all!
