Reflections 8/14/2020: God, thank You for letting my knee cooperate to execute this adventure with the family! The cute “onboard” puppies didn’t cause any wrecks either! We pulled off 30 miles (round trip) of Platt Riverside trails to the downtown REI store, and splashed in the refreshing waters of falls and pools. Eevee, the Shih Tzu in typical style for her breed, would have NONE of the wet stuff, but Roo seemed fascinated by the water! Once doused, he ground himself viciously into the sandy beach! Rolled and rolled until the sand camouflaged his whole squiggling body! So cute to watch him making new discoveries about this enormously big world! (Lord, keep us all this delighted and fascinated with new experiences in our lives as well!) Puppy delirium! We all almost got heat stroke on the ride home, but refreshed ourselves with fruit smoothies and shady grasses at the Hudson Garden Snack Shack! I’m not sure Roo will ever trust me again to swathe his little body in the bike basket for such a long stretch of time, but he was a great sport for the day! Seeing his bestie, Eevee, leaning into the wind to take in all the sights, sounds and smells of the River must have encouraged him to face the heat with new resolve. Sure works for me!
