Reflections 7/14/2020: I realized this morning why Braveheart blesses me so much. He is intrigued with me, not just with the food I provide him! The magpies will brave a quick swish into my presence to snag a cashew up close. For them it is all about my stuff I can give them, not me. But Braveheart lingers. And seems to just love our closeness. The food becomes irrelevant as he looks into my face with fascination! I even catch him perched on our window sills, peering into our house at times. A peeping Tom? Nah… a seeking Tom! Reminds me of Your words Jesus, as the multitudes flocked around You after You fed 5000 of them with a few loaves of bread and a handful of fish. “Jesus answered them and said, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.’” (Jn. 6:26-27‬) I hope these morning connection times with You (and quick text messages to reconnect throughout the day) convey genuine delight in You, Lord! Window peeking! Not just seeking the stuff You give me, but longing for You… “the food which endures to eternal life!” May my fascination with You bless Your heart in the same way as Braveheart’s does mine!
