Reflections 1/25/21: For some strange reason I awakened this morning to a strong fear that our next generation is walking away from You Jesus. Shrugging You off as irrelevant… or even dangerous. Equating You with a political party that they find offensive… a cult in need of “reprogramming.” They are “throwing the baby out with the bath water.” And totally missing YOU in this sweeping rejection! That BREAKS my heart! Probably nothing new in the flow of history… even started out that way with nailing “offensive” You to a cross to shut You up. BUT it feels so final now, somehow. In our superior-centric sense of ourselves as the pinnacle of all creation, we have no need of You. A Creator? Naaa… we have learned to split the atom on our own. (And done wonderful things with that knowledge.) As a Savior? BS… sin is an antiquated concept. (As our own internal compass celebrates anarchy.) As a Companion? Only IF You agree with everything we want to do. So along with the Queen of Hearts we shout, “Off with her head!”

I find myself cyclically singing Kari Jobe’s chorus 🎶

“May His favor be upon you

And a thousand generations

And your family and your children

And their children, and their children.” 🎶 Hopeful that You will keep that flame of faith alive in at least a remnant of these following generations. It absolutely terrifies me where we as human beings will go without it. Without You. Remind me that YOU ARE GOD, and are working out Your plan for our little blue planet. Keep “roving Your eyes to and fro upon the earth to strongly support those whose hearts are fully Yours!” (II Chron. 16:9)
