Reflections 10/8/2020: Boy, but I can relate to this multi-maimed guy! Knee-replacements, near-death by allergic reaction, uterus, ovaries and omentum hacked out, cancer corralled, and now I head to the gastro surgeon to schedule the gall bladder heist! All in 1 year.🤨Ahhhhhhhh!!!! “Tis bar-thumping bragging rights matey!” I’m told this surgery is pretty simple, so compared to what I’ve survived thus far, I am not worried. Just another bump in the road. But my innards must look like Swiss cheese! And still have the 2nd knee replacement coming up in December. 😕 God, You (and Ed) have been so supportive and faithful through this long ordeal of surgeries and recoveries. THANK YOU! It is so easy to focus on my own discomfort that I forget how my incapacitation impacts those around me. By Your grace I have been a fairly patient patient. Surprisingly joyful in the midst of pain. That’s You in me, not the ‘me’ of my own making!  🎶 “Joy unspeakable! Faith unsinkable! Love unstoppable! Anything is possible!” 🎶 So bar-bragging is in order! “Hey bartender! Another round for all me mateys!”
