Reflections 1/18/2020: Two heifers smooching! She tried to add some tongue (like Marla at Stepping Stone), but I saw it coming and dodged it! (Lots of practice with that!) Fun evening out with Ed! He was a great sport, putting up with my need to explore many different booths. At one, an Indian jewelry display (to die for!), I met an elderly Navajo man who also grew up in the minuscule town of Ft. Defiance, Arizona, (population ~100), where I spent my 4th grade year! What’s the chance of that? We reminisced about the olden days and he filled me in on how much it has grown over the years. (Thank You God for these “chance” encounters!) I did learn one spiritual/relational lesson on our date. I had coerced Ed into wearing the cowboy boots I had gotten him for Christmas (because I wanted to be escorted by a cowboy on our romantic evening), and between the 2 inch heel and the challenge of breaking in a new boot to accommodate his feet, he was in misery all night.!😳 Lesson? It’s not fair to try and change your partner! Love and accept them as they are! (No-neck gym rat, not gnarly cowboy!) You’d ‘a thunk I’d have learned that lesson from my viewing a dozen Hallmark Channel movies over the last month! But no… had to live it out firsthand… to Ed’s dismay! So when you see Ed next time, hug him profusely… and offer him a loving foot rub!
