Reflections 2/11/2020: Well I managed to dodge a mutation into an insect during yesterday’s radioactive PET scan, (though sometimes these transformations take time)! But I didn’t dodge my innards lighting up like the Las Vegas strip. Unfortunately the bright lights in this case are ignited by traces of cancerous cells. Diagnosis: stage 3 ovarian and omentum cancer. Kinda what we knew already, but somehow seeing it broadcasted in lights threw me for a loop. Rush of fear! And tweaked the course of chemotherapy. Now 2 rounds of chemo followed by hysterectomy and omentum-ectomy surgery to take down all the Christmas lights. (More forceful than even our HOA’s demeaning letters to cease and desist celebrating the holidays!) Port gets drilled into my tender chest today and chemo starts tomorrow. (This is where having an insect exoskeleton WOULD come in handy!) Thank You God for expediting all of this so we can get this party started ASAP. Love my doc! Meet my surgeon this week who is a follower of You Jesus. Infusion center has already been seduced by Ed’s charms and I even get my belly drained one more time so that pain will diminish as well! Who could ask for more? Turn my tears of fear into eye-washing focus on You overseeing this whole crazy ordeal.
